He’s hungry to be the face of a team he can call his own. He’s hungry to lead his own supporting cast. He’s hungry for a new challenge after winning with James. And he’s hungry to forge a legacy of his own, not ride on the coattails of James, who — like it or not — is at the tail end of his prime.
Elite Kids Steve Largent Jersey Boston only has to make room for him, and they spoke to half-a-dozen teams on Wednesday about the possibility of a trade to clear the necessary cap space, according to Wojnarowski and Shelburne’s report. Here’s why both sides would do that.
Joseph, who will turn 26 before the start of next season, averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 assists in 25 minutes per contest. He’s a quality backup point guard that provides excellent defense, but not a ton of shooting range. Toronto deemed him expendable and will hand the backup point guard minutes over to third-year man Delon Wright.
Joseph will make $7.6 million next year and has a player option for $7.9 million in 2017-18. The Pacers and Raptors recently discussed a deal that would have seen the Pacers take Joseph into their cap space to lessen Toronto’s luxury-tax bill, but that became less necessary once Toronto sent Carroll — who makes double Joseph’s salary for the next two years — to the Nets.
Authentic Chris Wormley Jersey
Instead, the Pacers still got their guy and Toronto found a better Carroll replacement at around half the price.
Keep joking about the AFC South at your own risk — it’s no longer the NFL’s worst division. The Texans have a promising rookie passer and what could become the league’s best defense. The Titans have real pieces around their young star quarterback. The Jaguars (on paper, at least) improved significantly on defense. The Colts have Andrew Luck. (Complete AFC South predictions)
As expected, Josh McCown will begin the season as the Jets starting quarterback.
Coach Todd Bowles announced his decision Monday, saying the veteran quarterback gives the Jets “the best chance to win right now.”
The 38-year-old QB, signed by the Jets in March, had been expected to win the three-way competition with Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty for the starting job.
No word yet on who will be McCown’s backup. Hackenberg, who started in the Jets’ 32-31 loss to the Giants Saturday night, tossed a couple of pick-sixes. Petty had three touchdown passes, but injured his knee and was expected to undergo an MRI.
The Jets are the seventh team in McCown’s 14-year NFL career, and as the NFL Media Research Group points out, he hasn’t had much success on winning teams, going 2-20 as a starter since 2014.
Cuban is referring to Kaepernick’s decision to take a knee during the national anthem last season to protest police violence against minorities.
Kaepernick is unsigned as NFL training camps begin and many suggest it’s due to a backlash for the attention his protest sparked last season despite support from many around the league.
“The NBA is such a global game,” Cuban was quoted as telling the Post in in an email, “I think our players’ exposure to different political systems among their teammates may help them appreciate our country even more and encourage their participation.”
Elite Letroy Guion Jersey Nene and the Houston Rockets have agreed to a three-year, $11 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Nene had originally agreed to a four-year deal worth $15 million on Saturday, but the deal was nixed because the league’s new over-38 rule. In that rule, players cannot be signed to contracts longer than three years if the deal would extend to or past their 38th birthday.
Felicio averaged just under five points and five rebounds in 16 minutes per game last season.
Elite Irving Fryar Jersey
The move to re-sign the 24-year-old Brazilian bruiser comes after Chicago shipped All-Star Jimmy Butler to Minnesota for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and the draft pick that became rookie stretch-4 Lauri Markkanen.
Felicio just finished his second year in the NBA and hasn’t put himself on an All-Star trajectory, but the 6’9 big man is a hustle and effort player who does the dirty work. And as the salary cap increases, he is on a manageable salary that averages about $8 million a year.
The Bulls also declined the team option on veteran point guard Rajon Rondo on Friday, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer.
The other major concern for Gay is his ruptured Achilles, an injury he suffered last January. An Achilles tendon injury is one of the worst muscular injuries in the NBA, and there’s a long history of players who suffer them never being the same. Gay is 30 and appears to be on the decline, but there’s a chance that he won’t even be the same player that he was last season when he averaged nearly 19 points on 46 percent shooting in the 30 games he played.
Still, he should be ready by the time the season starts, or shortly after. Wesley Matthews, one of the most recent Achilles injury cases, started the very first game for the Mavericks after suffering his in March. With two extra months, Gay should be ready to go for San Antonio come late October.
The San Antonio Stars seemed reluctant to take her but couldn’t find a good trade. The Stars already had a good backcourt. So Plum isn’t playing much. The Stars are undefeated when she plays 30+ minutes this season … and quite bad when she does not. Something has to give.
David Griffin, the former GM of the Cavaliers, argues that Kyrie Irving is actually brave to request a trade given the current state of Cleveland. This is actually brave of Griffin to say in public because it might annoy LeBron, who had been an ally of Griffin. (The politics of all of this are making my head spin.)
Stephen Curry played in a Web.com Tour event this weekend. The Web.com Tour is basically the PGA’s developmental tour. Curry missed the cut, but his performance was wildly impressive and, SB Nation’s golf writer Brendan Porath writes, great for the sport.
Any former competitor, from any walk of life, will know this to be true: It all depends on who wants it more. It doesn’t matter what team has the better star player or who has the prestigious pedigree. What matters most is who steps on the floor with the mindset to win, who steps up to the challenge, and who shows up to play.

Something about the Minnesota Lynx brings out the best in the Indiana Fever. Familiar foes of the past, these two teams met in both the 2012 and 2015 WNBA Finals. Yet, Indiana’s five-game losing streak and 10 losses out of its last 11 games entering the night suggested that the rivalry was dead, at least on paper.

Trilogy and the 3 Headed Monsters will advance to the BIG3 Championship game on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Both teams earned victories in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday, Aug. 20 at the Key Arena in Seattle.
But, wait a minute. Is Durant really on YouTube scrolling through comments? Is he really replying in the comment section? Apparently so:
The feisty Durant we all knew and loved in 2010 on social media is back, and this time he’s got a finals MVP trophy to back him up. Shortly after winning his first title, he took to Twitter to let everyone know why he plays for the Warriors. A few days later, he stepped out here and responded to multiple troll attempts with fire tweets.
Now? We’ve pivoted to YouTube. Gotta keep the bases covered, right?
Authentic Henri Richard Jersey
This is the Summer of Durant. He’s living his best life and won’t let your comments or your tweets stop him. But what really strikes me here is that not only is Durant scrolling through YouTube comment sections 鈥?which is a dangerous thing to do, by the way 鈥?he’s also taking the time to reply to you TWO MINUTES AFTER YOUR COMMENT IS POSTED.
That is incredible. And, yes, it’s only a one-word response. But it’s also a response from Kevin-freaking-Durant. Y’all better watch out in that comment section. It’s rare to get a response from an athlete on social media 鈥?especially the best ones. But Durant is different. He’s got time.
Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians was feeling really good about his wide receivers a few months ago. But after a few weeks of training camp and two preseason games, that has changed.
“I must’ve been seeing things back in the spring when I said we had had 12 guys who could play in the NFL,” Arians said after practice Monday. “We might have two.”
Arians has never been one to hold his tongue, so his comments aren’t out of character at all. He singled out Larry Fitzgerald and Jaron Brown for praise, but has been frustrated by the rest of the group.
“Assignments, catching the ball,” Arians said. “The main things the receivers have to do, they are not doing.”
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Noah Brown took advantage of that and demolished Sanchez with a blindside shot.
Sanchez is battling Jeff Locke for the punter role in Indianapolis and was able to walk off the field under his own power.
Brown was a seventh-round pick for the Cowboys and probably didn’t help his case for a spot on the roster by picking up a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness. He finished the Hall of Fame Game without a reception and had a fumble in his preseason second game against the Rams.
He bounced back well by grabbing a touchdown later in the quarter. Brown will need more plays like his touchdown grab and less like his destruction of Sanchez to stick in Dallas.
We probably shouldn’t be making too many grand proclamations this early in the preseason. That said, it’s an encouraging performance from Watson, and an important first step in his NFL development.
New restrictions have officially pants’d NHL goalies.
Beginning today, all league goalies must wear new style, tight-fitting pants that aim at increasing scoring without changing the game too much.
Goalies who violate the new wardrobe policy will be subject to a two-game suspension, a $25,000 fine will be issued to the team and $1,000 fine to the equipment manager, according to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun.
Not since Pioneers coach Jim Montgomery scored three times in the 1993 championship game while playing for Maine had a player recorded a hat trick in the Frozen Four title game.

Lukosevicius’ second goal was set up by incredible puck movement by fellow sophomore Troy Terry, who helped Team USA win the gold medal at the World Junior Championship in January. Terry is just the fifth player ever to win a national championship and WJC title in the same year.
The Pioneers defense, led by Hobey Baker Award winner Will Butcher, kept the Bulldogs (28-7-7) in check in the third period to secure Denver’s eighth national championship.

There was a scary moment early in the third period when Denver defenseman Tariq Hammond was taken off the ice on a stretcher with a lower leg injury after crashing into the boards.
Why’d you turn against me, Gordon? For six years, I taught you how to skate, I taught you how to score, I taught you how to go for the W’. You could’ve been one of the greats! And now look at yourself. You’re not a has been. You’re a never was.
Count Cody Bellinger among the Los Angeles sports fans enjoying the Lonzo Ball Show this summer, but don’t think for a second he wishes it was the Cody Bellinger Show.
Bellinger, the Dodgers’ 22-year-old phenom and the overwhelming favorite to win the National League Rookie of the Year award, is a microcosm for his team: a reserved, wide-eyed player with immense talent who is laser-focused on delivering the team its first championship since 1988. Born and raised in a suburb of Phoenix, Bellinger hasn’t let his newfound celebrity status in a major city sidetrack his mission.
I’m a laid-back guy, so being all over TV … that’s cool, but at the end of the day, it’s whatever, Bellinger said. They can have cameras following [Lonzo] all over the place.
Game Kids John Gibson Jersey
About all the Dodgers and Lakers have in common these days are the city they share and the goal of bringing ticker-tape parades back to Los Angeles.
Rivera is younger, hitting the ball impressively, and is more of a utility player than Cabrera. But as mentioned, his rookie status is too attractive for the Mets to hand him over without something big in return.
Ryan Allen Authentic Jersey Except, hold on, waaaaait a second, what if they sign two of those aging free agents (say, Moustakas and Cain) and develop some players around them (including the prospects they would have traded for Lynn). Isn’t that sustainable?
The Boston Red Sox are 8-0 straight up and 7-1 on the runline over their last eight games. The Red Sox will try to extend their hot streak with a win in Friday night’s series opener against the New York Yankees.
The Futures Game will be played at 4 p.m. ET, televised by MLB Network, with Matt Vasgersian on the call, alongside analysts Mike Lowell and Jonathan Mayo, and reporter Heidi Watney. The telecast will also be streamed online on MLB.com.
Given Sandoval has hit .237/.286/.360 for the Red Sox over three years, with defense that looks nothing like what he managed while with the Giants, the list of teams willing to take a shot on him even at the league minimum might be tiny or even nonexistent.
As for what the Sox will do at third base now, Jhonny Peralta won’t be the answer, either, as Boston released him from his minor league contract on Thursday. Presumably that move was made to make room for top prospect Rafael Devers at Triple-A, and Devers might end up being some kind of solution come September like Xander Bogaerts was back in 2013.
Authentic Mens Antonio Garcia Jersey But relying on the 20-year-old to solve Triple-A in a hurry and then immediately be able to contribute in the majors is maybe asking too much, even if he is currently slugging .575 in a league that doesn’t reward hitters.

In those 54 frames, Miller has allowed only 26 hits and 11 runs, with a 1.67 ERA and 78 strikeouts. Cleveland will want (and need) that performance back in time to clinch their division and put their best foot forward for the playoffs.
They could get by without him, but it’s not exactly a lineup experiment that they want to have to worry about for very long.

The highest-profile move to affect a video game release took place shortly after Brett Favre appeared on the cover of “Madden NFL 09.” It was the first time publisher EA Sports had chosen a retired player for the cover of the storied franchise. Favre then unretired and forced a trade to the Jets. The deal happened too late for the company to do anything but produce a downloadable cover of him in his new uniform that fans could print out and insert into their game boxes.
The first screenshot to feature the Cavs’ new Nike uniforms and sponsor Goodyear was released Monday by 2K Sports. Irving begins the year rated 90 Overall, which is unchanged from last season. Among point guards, he’s tied for fourth with John Wall and is behind Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul.
